When a battery is connected to a circuit using some interconnecting wire, the electrons inside the battery are able to flow out of one side of the battery, around the electronic circuit, and then back to the other side of the battery. So long as this continuous electronic circuit is unbroken, the flow of electricity continues in a never-ending loop.
