To meet this need, Bucher Emhart glass has developed the multi gob weight control system, including multi weight feeder and the knowledge for how it can be applied. This paper presents the recent development of a model based setup algorithm for the Multi Gob Weight System. The algorithm makes the multi gob weight set up procedure quick, accurate, and easy for the end user. Plant trial results are included to validate the effectiveness of the setup algorithm implementation. INTRODUCTION The capability to produce multiple containers with different weights on the same machine line can give the glass plant greater flexibility to organize production, save cost on mold equipment, and reduce production loss due to job changes.

CONCLUSIONS The current study shows that SEM/EDX analysis of stones provides comparable results to the petrographic techniques. In addition, EDX provides the analyst with the elemental composition of the stone whereas petrographic techniques are unable to distinguish certain compositional differences. EDX also has the ability to identify portions of a stone matrix that are non-crystalline which provides additional information that is also not available using petrographic techniques. If an SEM/EDX is accessible, an experienced analyst can employ the equipment knowing it will provide at least comparable information to petrographic techniques, and in certain cases it will provide additional information that will assist in identification of the source of the stone.
